I had a generally OK experience at Carbase Lympsham. I was after a very specific car and they had the car I wanted in stock. The Sales Exec was helpful, but I am not happy with the way I effectively signed documents that I hadn't seen for the additional insurances and extended warranty. I was probably wrong not to demand to see the documents but then again they had a duty to supply them for me to read. I received a six digit code by text from 'Compliance' and was asked to provide this, and by doing so I effectively signed the document. The document states that I was not present in the showroom, which is untrue, and I suspect this is why they could use the digital signing by a text code. The RAC Extended Warranty document clearly states 'For your own benefit and protection you should read the
Terms and conditions carefully before signing this Declaration.' I was not given the document to read and sign.
